Tacocity: Los Angeles Through the Eyes of A Tacophile

I have been following Rob on twitter since 2009. His passion for Tacos has been something that is well know with friends and followers alike. Tacocity:Los Angeles Through the eyes of a Tacophile  is Rob's second book, and he,not only shares his favorite places around Los Angeles to get amazing tacos, but he also shares recipes you can try at home. Rob is a composer of 100's of movie and T.V. shows and likes to work without any pants at home. I consider Rob a friend (even though we have never met) But a dream of mine ,would be to do a mini Taco crawl with him, and try some of the best Los Angeles tacos.

Sundance Film Festival 2014 here I come!

Tomorrow after work I will be driving to Utah, from my home in Idaho, for the Sundance Film Festival! I started my very first trip in 2004 and I can't wait to be back in Park City! The plan is for me to be at Sundance on Friday,Saturday and Sunday! It will be a 3 hour drive to stay with family in Bountiful. Then each day I will have to make the 45 minute drive to Kimball Junction, where i will hop on a bus (free)to Main Street.

I was able to get an extra day off so i can spend 3 days at Sundance.I have actually never watched a movie at Sundance (true)but I have watched nearly all of them after each Festival is over.I remember going the very first time on a wing and a prayer with my best bud Jerry and we have figured it out,by trial and error. Just to be there and check out everything that I can and get Pictures with many actors and talk with so many people with the same passion as my self Is worth everything.

With out money and connections it is hard to experience all that you can during the festival.but make do with what you can! So many of my friends always talk about wanting to go and see Sundance.but they never do and It is fun to show pictures and share experiences.

Well tonight I am just getting everything packed and ready.and tomorrow evening the journey to Utah begins and another Sundance Film Festival will start for me!what will I experience?who will I see and get pictures with?

want to find out what happens. Just check back!

My 2013 top 10 movie list

At the end of every year,It seems like everyone makes a top 10 list of movies that they enjoyed. It is funny to see all of the different lists and who likes what or "you liked that ?".No one list is the same, and even the Top movie critics have some variations from other critics. What you like, and what I like can and will be somewhat different.Just like our interests in t.v. shows, music, food ect. That is just the way we are made up. How boring would it be if we all liked the same things. Some people like one Genre and only limit themselves to it.like Horror or SCI-FI,Westerns ect. and some like The Hollywood Blockbusters, others like myself enjoy Independent movies. I try to watch all types of movies and not to limit myself from experiencing different stories or points of view.

I counted around 85+ movies that i watched in the year 2013.I try to watch a movie a day.On some days, i do not get to watch any movies. But on a good weekend it may be 2 to 3!

Here is my list, but it could and will change because I still have not watched around 12 movies that I really wanted to watch.and they could easily take some of the top 10 spots. So here it is.Drum roll please....

MY TOP 10 MOVIES OF 2013

1. Sound City
2. The Place Beyond the Pines
3. Mud
4. Fast and Furious 6
5.A Single Shot
6. Charlie Countrymen
7. As I Lay Dying
8.The Butler
9. The Hunt
10. Catching Fire

honorable mentions go to:

42
What Maisie Knew
The Purge

Movies I really can't wait to see:

The Wolf of Wall Street
American Hustle
Her
Lone Survivor
Walter Mitty
Inside Llewyn Davis
Nebraska
Dallas Buyers Club
Short Term 12
Enough Said
All Is Lost
12 Years a Slave

so that's just my opinion and what i like right now for this year.I am excited to see what will come out In 2014 and catch all of the great movies i have missed.

PS:if you have any of these or others and any new 2014 movies and you want to send them to me. I am always willing to watch and always will give a review on this blog and tweet about it!Just let me know how I can help.

goodbye 2013!

So i had so many plans for The Getting Spot blog, I was going to post every day add videos and just really put so much energy into it.I was working nights at the Hospital in medical records. I was only working 4 or 5 hrs. a night and It was cool and i had so much time for watching movies and blogging. Also around that time, I was also bugging my boss about more hours and I really wanted to just be able to work and be able to provide insurance for myself and my 3 kids.Fast forward to the last week of August.and the plans I had for this blog and what i was going to do,with it, changed over night.

A fellow coworker who worked during the day and was in charge of Birth Certificates, decided to put in her notice. It was now an opportunity for me to switch and take over that roll of Birth Certificate clerk. So that's what i have been doing lately,I decided to take a break for a bit on the blog. But i have missed it so much. I apologize to any FAN of the blog, for not blogging at all during that time.

Even though I enjoyed taking time off i really missed it.

some of the questions i have since September has been.

1. I see people looking at the blog.the numbers are rising but where do i go from here ???
2. why haven't I made any money from it?
3. why do i not have any followers?
4.should i give it up? Is there any value?
5.what is my voice on here?

well i guess,It really comes down to the fact that  I really missed doing this blog and sharing and being a small voice about movies and web series.

So goodbye 2013 and hello 2014! stick around, lets see what happens.
