clip of Evolution by Marco Brambilla at New Frontier Sundance Film Festival 2012

When at the Sundance Film Festival for opening weekend ,Ichecked out the New Frontier exhibits and was blown away by this collage of movie history.you need to check this out for yourself!

taken from the Sundance page:http://www.sundance.org/festival/film-events/evolution-megaplex/

In this magnificent, large-scale, stereoscopic, 3-D video collage, media artist Marco Brambilla presents a scrolling mural depicting the history of humankind, illustrating sweeping movements of world conflict through a cinematic lens by seamlessly remixing hundreds of individual channels of looped video gathered from Hollywood’s blockbuster films. Evolution (Megaplex) invites audiences to roam whimsically through the annals of time while casting a satirical look at the bombast of the big-budget “epic.”

Produced by Marco Brambilla Studio and Christopher Grimes Gallery.

Sundance Film Festival Day 2, January 21 2012

This day, was the day, that it snowed really hard, making it really wet!my camera , a little Fuji point and shoot didn't give me the picture quality i wanted.Next year, i want a cell phone with front and back camera/video to really get "in picture" with people.when you have seconds to get a picture ,and with all of the crowds of people, you need to get in quick!what a wet and cold day!some actors would be really hurried ,and couldn't stop for a picture. You take what you can get sometimes.

The Jacques Bolsey Project needs contributions! only 8 days left!

my friends are in need of your help to raise money for this amazing documentary!if you have ever used a video camera or made a video on your cell phone then you have Jacques Bolsey to thank for his contribution .As a prolific inventor Mr. Bolsey put motion-picture cameras into the hands of amateur filmmakers.

THE JACQUES BOLSEY PROJECT from HME on Vimeo.

This story was brought to light as a result of an accidental discovery by Bolsey's great granddaughter over 40 years after his death. During her second semester of film school, Alyssa Bolsey was confronted with the realization that her enigmatic great-grandfather, Jacques Bolsey, had been one of the pioneers of the consumer motion picture camera revolution. He was in fact, the inventor of the iconic Bolex camera. Why had this significant family history never been shared with her? With more questions than answers, Alyssa is presented with a mystery she is compelled to solve. She assembles a team of filmmakers, historians and family members to help her tell the story of a man who, almost a century ago, created a device that is still used today. It is time to uncover everything and she won't take silence for an answer.

will you please help make this project a reality!

Blackthorn

I have waited for a good Western Movie and i found this Gem of a movie, starring Sam Shepard. It was filmed entirely in Bolivia ,a place i love.(i lived in La Paz, Bolivia for 3 months) and i really enjoyed the story line, the casting and the imagery.I would say this is probably Sam Shepard's finest work.a good film on character study. check it out.

About The Film

It's been said that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were killed in a standoff with the Bolivian military in 1908. In BLACKTHORN, Cassidy (Sam Shepard) survived and is quietly living out his years under the name James Blackthorn in a secluded Bolivian village. Tired of his long exile from the U.S. and hoping to see his family again before he dies, Cassidy sets out on the long journey home. But when an unexpected encounter with an ambitious young criminal (Eduardo Noriega) derails his plans, he is thrust into one last adventure, the likes of which he hasn’t experienced since his glory days with the Sundance Kid.

What is all the buzz for a $9,000 movie! NEWLYWEDS!

I am an avid twitter guy!and the BUZZ i have noticed lately is on a film NEWLYWEDS! It is a film made by Actor/writer/Director Edward Burns (Saving Private Ryan ) for $9,000 and a crew of 3! I really love Edward and his approach to making movies.Edward kept the movie making cost low, uses social media to promote it,and released it on iTunes and VOD as well as in Movie Theatres. As i understand, with people who have made their own movies,is that they generally will see little return on the investment of actually making a movie, plus movie makers will max out all the credit cards and go into hugh debt just to see their labour of love shown on the big screen.NOT EDWARD! I hope more movie makers will follow Edward Burns and his approach to making and releasing a movie. Way to go Edward! I definitely will see this movie!and i hope you will also !
