The Getting Spot needs your help

I have tried many ways to make money off of this blog, affiliate ads ect,and even have posted my address for those who would like to donate to help support this blog.but after 3 years i have still made $0 from it and have received nothing in return.I did win a flash drive for a web series and posted a review. this is a labour of love and i enjoy it very much.I also work so my time gets limited. I have removed ads and would like to be independent. I do not want to be rich, but i would like to be rewarded.

I like web series and movies  and understand everyone is strapped for cash. I can spread the word about you and what you are doing. but i need a little help on my end. sure mentions are good and retweets i love em.,and if that is all you can do, than that is cool. sometimes, that is all i can do.

I spend alot of time on the web and twitter looking for new things to post that i believe you would enjoy also.

what am i asking for, here on this post?

money donations- for support of this blog and to watch movies.
movie swag
posters
dvds- new and older for reviews ect
your products, movies web series to review! saving me alot of time researching the web.
music- if you are a music group/singer i can help
whatever else i have left out?

if you want to have a review of something then send me whatever you have. any product big or small it doesn't have to be movie/entertainment related.and maybe we can work out something.

I also do paid reviews. we can work out the price, just email me.

I also need a new computer anyone want to donate a laptop? we can put a company logo on it for pictures i will tweet it out and everyone will see it.

I am just throwing it out to you.I see it as a win/win you scratch my back i will scratch yours.I see 2013 as a great year for The Getting Spot!

The Getting Spot aims to be a top spot for everyone to come for the best information on entertainment. and everything else.

thanks for reading and if you can help THANKS!

my top album of 2012 is......

I thought of all of the music that came out in 2012,and sure i enjoyed alot of songs.but the only album to come out this year, that i have played almost non stop or that has had the most "going to work"play time has to be ,and is .... Van Halen -A Different Kind of Truth!

14 of my favorite movies from 2012

I took a look back at all of the movies i have watched from 2012,and out of the 200+ released this year,i think i have watched around 85-90 movies.that was mostly on DVD. The majority of them,i was lucky enough to pick up from my local library! I like these movies for different reasons, and I hope you would take a look at them and see if you like them as well.

I loved 'The Way' because i love adventure movies, and this movie was for me, one that made me cry and laugh. It is a story of a father who loses his son and finishes a Journey his son could not..I think if i could, i would like to take a hike on the "The El Camino"

I found this one,and was really excited to check it out.It was another powerful movie that hit emotions in me. a story of a guy with a 50/50 shot at beating cancer.

This movie was just great!I love movies with Mark Duplass and is a movie about a guy with a time machine!and taking a chance to change the future or past!

This is a True Story of Bernie a funeral director and a murder. and a  amazing performance by Jack Black!and the town who fell in love with Bernie.

This is a powerful movie about a Father and a Son.I think this is very Oscar Worthy,by Mr. Robert De Niro. But i doubt the Acadamy will award him anything for it. I am also a hugh fan of Paul Dano and this is such amazing performances from them both!

I love Music, and this Documentary is one of the best! In watching, i learned so much about Bob Marley and his life. a great one for any music lover or Fan of Bob Marley!
Richard Gere,in one of, if not his best role yet! I was able to stand next to Mr. Gere and shake his hand at The Sundance Film Festival this year! and was excited to check this out!I was not disappointed! a very intense performance that deserves the Oscar!
This was a great movie!and worthy of any awards,I loved the one room, 4 people performances. it was as close to watching a play or being in the room as you could get.Real and emotional.

Probably my favorite out of all of them. Boy Scout runs away, falls in love with a girl.adventure and a coming of age story.outstanding in every sense.

Maybe one every couple should watch, I was moved by this movie about relationships, love, faith, hope.it was funny and moving.

This documentary is about Patty Schemel and she was in 'Hole' a grunge Band in the 90's. I love 'Hole' and it gave me a insider look into that and Patty and her drug addiction.also as a hugh Kurt Cobain fan, i was able to see some home movies that had Kurt in them.watching the band Hole in some on stage performances was also a bonus. But to see how Patty made it to where she is now, is amazing.

as a Craigslist junkie,i wanted to watch this. It was a great documentary of a guy, and how he used Craigslist, to travel and live off the goodness of people. a great study into kindness of strangers.

a true story of a man who was moved to action,to help Save children and people in a struggle that is moving and never ending. One Man can make a difference!

A great movie with Nick Cage,i always wondered what length i would go to just to get revenge.

The Killers - Here With Me

I love Tim Burton movies, and this music video is just an amazing piece of  imagery as only the mind of Tim Burton could come up with! The Killers song is amazing  from their 4th  album "Battle Born",and is the video story is of obsession.

Starring Winona Rider, who has worked with Tim Burton in the past ( Beetlejuice,Edward Scissorhands ) and also starring Craig Roberts (Submarine,Jane Eyre)

The Girl Is Mime-starring Martin Freeman

Did the mime commit the crime? Clive Buckle is being questioned about the murder of his wife. Interrogation brings back a slew of memories, some good, some bad…some sexy. The police are convinced he did it, they just need a weapon; but Clive’s saying nothing.

Created in  2010,as part of the London  24 hour film project. It features "The Hobbit" star Martin Freeman and by British director Tim Bunn, they had to write shoot and edit this amazing short in within a 48 hour period.I think this is a very beautiful piece. I hope you will enjoy it as much as i do.

How to Get On Reality T.V. book by Dan Gheesling

I do not get paid to do this and I haven't received a book or anything.but as a fan of some reality shows (Survivor,Big Brother,Amazing Race, ect.)I think a book from a guy who has been on T.V. (Big Brother)would help anyone, who has dreams of getting on a Reality T.V. show! In reading Dan's book, you would be able to read and learn from first hand experience on what he went through to finally get on T.V. and since "Success leaves Clues" why not learn from a "Master"

Taken from the Book Description:

Dan Gheesling is known for winning the 2008 grand prize on the hit CBS Reality TV show Big Brother. But what most people don’t know about Dan is the journey he actually took to get cast on Reality TV... until now. Follow Dan on his journey and experience first hand how many times Dan was rejected in the casting process and what exactly he did to overcome it. Learn how Dan started playing Big Brother before the game even started! Whether you are a Reality TV fan or just someone who loves an epic underdog story, How A Normal Guy Got Cast on Reality TV gives you an inside look at how a normal Catholic School Teacher from Michigan beat the odds and fulfilled his dream of being in the Big Brother house.

King Loses Crown Music video

I have to share this amazing music video from King Loses Crown!I am kinda bias toward this band because i know the Bass Player Kent.
Today the San Francisco trio King Loses Crown releases their new single today, “My Revenge.” and it is accompanied with the music video.

It was directed by visual effects director Jim Mitchell (Harry Potter, Sleepy Hollow, and Jurassic Park III).  Mitchell had been developing a robot character and when he heard “My Revenge” he realized the song’s theme was “similar to what [he] was imagining for the world of the character.” He edited a few of his robot animations to the song and “couldn’t believe how it just seemed to naturally sync up like they were meant to be together.”

The Getting Spot wants to go to The Sundance Film Festival!

I go to Sundance every year, for 2 days, generally the first opening Friday and Saturday. I travel from Idaho to Utah and stay with my sister in law and then drive back and forth to Park City for Sundance.

the plans are still the same and i am going! but I would love to go as a correspondent for anyone that needs someone to tweet and report on the goings on at Sundance January 17-27.or you could just donate for me to go and i will post my adventures on this blog and twitter. I am not really sure if my boss would give me the 11 days off. I may just have to quit and find something when i get back. but it would be worth it!

what is needed:

travel is covered! I can drive from Idaho to Utah.

Lodging (i would sleep on the ground in a sleeping bag,in the corner of your place) or one of those fancy lodging places.so i could stay later and not have to make the trip back to Bountiful each night. those roads get pretty slick.or i can make the trip back and forth.

food $$(i could eat cheap and pack snacks and sandwiches )or  i could eat better at other spots. all to be tweeted to everyone.

money for movie tickets OR a movie package not sure what that is going to cost.

maybe $$$ to upgrade phone and i am thinking a GoPro setup or a flip cam? (do they make those any more?) a laptop to work on the blog, and post pictures and such to twitter ect.

I am just going to toss this out there and see if anyone wants to donate and help me out,so i can spend the 11 days at Sundance. you will get shout outs and lots of love from me and The Getting Spot. and this could be a great tax deduction for you. (do you get a deduction for that?)

not sure the totals amount needed but if i could get $3000+ or more i could make it work.

just trying to make a dream come true.using the Law of Attraction and a lot of prayers.for this.

peace and love!

Abigail :new web series that I love!

From Red Raccoon Entertainment comes a two year idea turned into an awesome web series Abigail ,The story of a young woman whose life changes forever when she's visited by a strange man with a secret to tell her. This web series is produced by Martin Smith and Nathaniel Collum. It is gripping entertainment that will keep you at the edge of your seat and will have you trying to guess what will happen next. Red Raccoon is a small film company composed entirely of University of Georgia graduates. The mission statement is really simple, “Tell stories well.” and I think they have achieved it with Abigail.

If you are looking for something different and fresh to watch,I think you will enjoy Abigail.  As i sit and watch the episodes (2 are out now)I am not sure what is going to happen next. Usually I will already figure out the plot and how it will go,but this one has me hooked!I have so many questions.but i do not want to give away any spoilers.you just need to watch for yourself. I have posted the first episode here so you will watch.and hopefully you will go and check out the rest! Why not give it a shot ,it only takes 5 minutes!

I would love a GoPro! just love all of the the videos i have seen from creative minds.i would like to take this to Sundance Film Festival and see what i could shoot with it.

I would love a iPhone 4 so i could take pictures and video on the go. and if you check out my January blog posts from Sundance Film Festival.I would love to get better composed pictures with tons of celebrities!

and finally that gets me to a ALL EXPENSE PAID TRIP TO SUNDANCE! WITH PASSES AND MOVIES TICKETS!

I also like  DVD'S,Vinyl records.

MOVIES! check out these Five trailers for movies coming out  and what we can expect for November!come back every day for more trailers!

November 2nd

Flight directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Denzel Washington!
I love any movie that stars Denzel and then add Zemeckis and his genius. this will be an amazing movie to watch!

The Man With the Iron Fists: starring Lucy Liu and  Russell Crowe and directed by RZA

Wreck-It Ralph: with voices by John C.Reilly , Jane Lynch, and Sarah Silverman

This Must Be The Place: starring Sean Penn, Frances McDormand.  Cannes 2011 much-discussed film! I love Sean Penn! this looks so amazing,I can't wait!

Amber Alert -I always wondered what i would do,if i had this happen to me! now i can watch it play out in movie format! This thriller follows two best friends who notice several AMBER Alert signs. Soon, they recognize the car driving in front of them as the car on the Alert. They follow the car and, with the police slow to respond, their pursuit quickly turns into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse.kind of reminds me of Paranormal Activity.

Wow if this is what we can expect for November then I am going to need alot of movie watching money!
