Awkward Embraces-web series

Already into season 2,Awkward Embraces is a fresh web series, that is gaining a cult  following. The theme of Awkward Embraces is "Nerdy girls need love, too."    This is a mix of "Friends","Sex in the City", and
"The Big Bang Theory". I am new to the web series scene, and i found out about Awkward Embraces from a friend that i follow on twitter,PJ Gaynard I clicked on the link that he had posted with episode 2,season 2 titled "The Booty Call".I immediately fell in love with it! and fell in love with the main character Jessica (played by Jessica Mills)What a hidden gem of a comedy series!  I also love that it is full of improvisation ,and shot with a Canon 5D Mark II camera ! It is also what i call, a D.I.Y film meaning that it is a fully-independent production.

It is wonderfully Written and produced by, and starring Jessica Mills, and co-starring Candis Phlegm and Lyndsey Doolen, I can't wait to start at the beginning to watch all of the misadventures of these three pretty, and talented stars. So break away from the main stream shows, and try out for yourself ,the Awkward Embraces web series.

You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1182350/

This is a pretty good show,It is a Woody Allen movie with alot of different stories, within the story (which i love)it is basically about searching for ones own happiness and finding love.some of the actors i loved (Anthony Hopkins,Naomi Watts,Freida Pinto,Antonio Banderas)i thought Josh Brolin was maybe not the right actor for this film.but that is just me.i loved him in TRUE GRIT.In true Woody Allen style, the characters are quirky, yet interesting and likable.check it out.

Gulliver's Travels

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320261/

do you love Jack Black?if so this is a great movie for you.it is also a great kids movie! my children loved the "little people" from  the island of Liliput.and they think Jack is pretty funny.wait until this comes out on dvd to watch it with the family.this also stars Amanda Peet,Emily Blunt,Jason Segel. Not as good of a movie as it could have been, this Gulliver's Travels story has been told so many times but this version is good.

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1758429/

What a show this is! It is currently in Season Two and this takes everyone back to the beginning before Season One  Spartacus:Blood and Sand http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1442449/

this is a hidden gem! a great tv show found on  the starz network.what i love about it is the shakespeare type dialog and the great charachers. The writing / dialogue is outstanding !sure there is alot of bloody fighting, but they are gladiators! i really like "REAL" movies that do not shy away from everything.this is also in the same lines as Deadwood.(another favorite of mine.) the stars of this season are John Hannah and Lucy Lawless.

so if you are looking for more graphic violence, real dialog,a great story line, and a no holds barred view of Gladiator life.i recommend it!

This movie is fun! if you love Jason Statham movies(i do)then this one is for you.isn't the movie poster cool?i dig it! a gun made up of guns! action, killing, explosions all are here!what makes this even better is that you have not only Jason Statham, you also have Donald Sutherland, and a favorite actor of mine (that i think really made this movie)Ben Foster!watch for the cool phonograph and the sweet old  E-Type Jaguar!

This is a remake of an old Charles Bronson movie.I haven't seen the old version but this one works for me!so if you are a lover of Jason Statham movies then check it out!just watch the trailer!

Valentine's Day

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0817230/

This movie came out last year and i really enjoyed it.most people would classify it as a "chick flick".it has a hugh  ensemble cast that it would be take up most of the page listing them.I love the fact that the movies have so many stories of people in different stages of love.it has something for everyone,if you are in love with someone now,or maybe single and longing to have someone in your life.or whatever.you would really enjoy this one.so pull the family together or call some friends and don't forget the popcorn! enjoy

Rated PG-13

Welcome to the Rileys

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1183923/

Welcome to the Rileys is an amazing movie with  some of the finest work that  have seen ,from  James Gandolfini (The Sopranos)and the ever versatile Melissa Leo(The Fighter) along with Kristen Stewart (Twilight)it is a story of a man(Gandolfini)who seeks salvation by caring for a wayward young woman (Stewart)This is the first movie i have seen with James Gandolfini which is a nice change from the Sopranos role he had played.and definitely not the normal role you would seen Kristen Stewart play in.If you wanted another Twilight or Sopranos then this movie isn't for you.but if  you love a solid story, love any of the three actors.love movies about forgiveness, and helping others out, when they don't want or don't know they need help.then this movie is a good movie to check out.

Rated R for strong sexual content, brief drug use and pervasive language involving a teenager.

Francis Ford Coppola: three rules for filmmaking (article review)

In an article i found by Ariston Anderson titled "Francis Ford Coppola:"On Risk,Money,Craft and Collaboration"
I am really excited to share this article.I am a film lover and someday i would love to make movies.Mr. Coppola gave alot of excellent thoughts.i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
Mr.Coppola gives three rules for filmmaking.
three rules for filmmaking:
1.write and direct original screenplays.
2.make them with the most modern technology available
3.self finance them.
Mr.Coppola says in the article that he isn't a master of film and that he is a student,he says he is consistently learning and that film is still a young medium, only 100 years old.
the following are parts i enjoyed from this article, please go to full article to read more.(see bottom link)
"If you don’t take a risk then how are you going to make something really beautiful, that hasn’t been seen before?"
"Don’t worry about whether it’s appropriate to borrow or to take or do something like someone you admire because that’s only the first step and you have to take the first step." Don’t worry about whether it’s appropriate to borrow or to take or do something like someone you admire because that’s only the first step and you have to take the first step"
"When you go to make it as a film, you have the suggestions of the actors, which are going to be available to you, right? You’re going to listen to the actors because they have great ideas. You’re going to listen to the photographer because he will have a great idea.but listen to everyone, because cinema is collaboration."
"When you make a movie, always try to discover what the theme of the movie is in one or two words."
"Always make your work be personal"

Conviction

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1244754/

This award winning movie based on a true story about
a man wrongfully convicted of murder, played by one of my favorite actors (we have the same birthday)Sam Rockwell. And his sister played by Hilary Swank, who puts herself through law school in an effort to represent her brother, she sacrifices 20 years of her life, in uncovering the truth with use of a new procedure that uses DNA profiling to help solve the crime.I really liked this movie.includes small roles with Peter Gallagher,Juliette Lewis, and Minnie Driver.

Black Swan

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0947798/

This movie deserves every award!such a great movie!Natalie Portman shines in the ballet movie of a dancer that is completely consumed with dance.the sexy Mila Kunis is her rival and and her idol Winona Ryder also amazing acting by these ladies.but it is Natalie who really gives an Oscar worthy performance.see this.what a treat!

The Fighter

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0964517/

If you love boxing movies,If you love Amy Adams ,Christian Bale, and Mark Wahlberg, then you will love this true story made into a movie.Amy gives,i think the most amazing performance in this movie, totally opposite any role she has played.Christian Bale who loves to change his physical appearance in movies give such an amazing acting performance.and Mark is also at top form.it is another Rocky underdog type movie but worthy of all the award Nominations!

MegaMind

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1001526/

Classic movie!i have seen this a few times and can't wait to get it on dvd!this is for everyone!i love a good movie and this could have made it as a regular movie but Wow!funny well done and Will Ferrell's talent
is brought out in this movie!also Tina Fey,Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill lend to this story!Good vs.Evil who will win!  fun for the entire family!

The Tourist

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1243957/

To be honest i really wanted to see this movie because the lovely Angelina Jolie was in it.I love her!
Johnny Depp i live his movies also.sadly it was a so so movie.the Venice shots make me want to go and visit.I wish Johnny could have done something with his long hair. The story was pretty good.so good i never figured out the ending,it caught me by surprise.it was slow through out and could have picked up the pace a bit.but as a one or two time watcher.you will enjoy it if you like the actors.

The King's Speech

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1504320/

I enjoyed this movie so much,i can see why it was nominated for awards!I was blow away not only by Colin Firth (he also starred in A Single Man that you have to see also)but also Geoffrey Rush(he gave a top performance of his career in this one). This is like a Hollywood movie of old.I really love this movie.See this movie.

True Grit 2010

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1403865/

I love westerns!this remake of the 1969 John Wayne classic is amazing!i will watch this one many times over.the cast Jeff Bridges,Matt Damon, and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld give top performances in this now classic Coen brothers movie. It would be so great for me as a western movie genre lover to see more of this type of movie put out every year.see this movie!own it! watch it!

127 hours

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1542344/
127 hours is a true story about Aron Ralston and his remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. I love survival stories,it makes me think "what would i do in that situation"?  this story is what you shouldn't do.

1)always tell people where you are going (he didn't)
2)buddy system (he didn't)
3)pack for the trip (he didn't)
4)use the right tool for the right job(he forgot it)
5)when all else fails never give up!survive at all costs!(he did)

such an amazing movie i have seen it a few times.and plan on seeing it many more times.James Franco gives such an outstanding performance  you have to see it!
