In an article i found by Ariston Anderson titled "Francis Ford Coppola:"On Risk,Money,Craft and Collaboration"
I am really excited to share this article.I am a film lover and someday i would love to make movies.Mr. Coppola gave alot of excellent thoughts.i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
Mr.Coppola gives three rules for filmmaking.
three rules for filmmaking:
1.write and direct original screenplays.
2.make them with the most modern technology available
3.self finance them.
Mr.Coppola says in the article that he isn't a master of film and that he is a student,he says he is consistently learning and that film is still a young medium, only 100 years old.
the following are parts i enjoyed from this article, please go to full article to read more.(see bottom link)
"If you don’t take a risk then how are you going to make something really beautiful, that hasn’t been seen before?"
"Don’t worry about whether it’s appropriate to borrow or to take or do something like someone you admire because that’s only the first step and you have to take the first step." Don’t worry about whether it’s appropriate to borrow or to take or do something like someone you admire because that’s only the first step and you have to take the first step"
"When you go to make it as a film, you have the suggestions of the actors, which are going to be available to you, right? You’re going to listen to the actors because they have great ideas. You’re going to listen to the photographer because he will have a great idea.but listen to everyone, because cinema is collaboration."
"When you make a movie, always try to discover what the theme of the movie is in one or two words."
"Always make your work be personal"
